Patent Attorney Positions Jobs description

A patent attorney’s main job is to advise their clients how to protect their intellectual property. A patent attorney obtains and enforces intellectual property rights on behalf of either individual inventors or organizations. A patent attorney studies and analyze scientific and technical documents, including previously published patent documents, to assess in what ways an invention is new and innovative. A patent attorney writes detailed descriptions of inventions in precise legal terms (patent drafts). A patent attorney deals with assignments of patent when a patent is sold or transferred and keep up to date with legal developments in the intellectual property field. A patent attorney advises client on other intellectual property rights, designs or trademarks. A patent attorney is responsible for all intellectual property issues including patent prosecution, licensing, technology transfer work, opinion work and counseling scientists and other professional groups on intellectual property issues. A patent attorney holds expertise in patent drafting, patent landscaping, patent portfolio mining, patent validity analysis,
patent ability assessment, prior art searching, competitive benchmarking, infringement analysis, patent litigation support and intellectual property assess management projects.

A patent attorney requires a degree in science, engineering or technical subject. A patent attorney should have at least two years specialist patent experience at a law firm or multinational company including writing patent applications and managing relationships directly with clients. Experience in patent litigation is also desirable. A patent attorney should be good in writing and communication skills. A patent attorney should be talented and diverse, who places a high value on professionalism while providing the highest quality legal services to its clients.
