The Austin or Houston office is seeking a licensed US patent agent with a Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology or a similar life sciences discipline, or counsel with a JD degree and Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology or a similar life sciences discipline. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience as a patent agent or patent lawyer. Duties include, but are not limited to, drafting patent applications and other documents during all stages of the patent prosecution process with the US Patent and Trademark Office and with foreign patent offices; taking invention disclosures and coordinating and corresponding with inventors, lawyers, and clients; conducting and analyzing the results of prior art searches; and maintaining knowledge of the latest patent laws in order to assist lawyers with drafting legal documents.
